LED Illuminations Broad Area Linear Array
If you crossed the diffuse illumination of a dome and the direct
illumination of a spotlight, the result would be our Broad Area
Linear Array (BALA). Designed for inspecting circuit boards, BALAs
provide low angle of incidence illumination over a long, wide area.
Creating illumination that is very even in intensity along the length
of the light, with controlled “fall off” in the transverse
direction (see illustration) two BALAs can be placed parallel and
facing each other to create a wider area of illumination. Useful
for inspecting moderately reflective materials, BALAs can be used
as replacements for fluorescent lighting. Applications range from
bottle placement inspections to medium and large sized circuit board
inspections.
