LED Illuminations Diffuse Illumination

Diffuse illumination, with properties similar to the light on an overcast day, creates minimal glare during the inspection of reflective materials. Standard domes offer rugged housings for potentially hostile work environments, and have been mounted on robotic arms for fast-paced inspections. All three diffuse lights can be ordered in a full range of visible and IR wavelengths, and the DL7248 and DL9160 are available in an RGB “all color” version. Applications range from reading print on the bottom of aluminum cans to inspecting for flaws in metal parts.

Axial Diffuse Illuminators

For reflective materials an Axial Diffuse Illuminator (ADI) offers illumination that creates minimal glare. Delivering even illumination over the entire designated field of view, our ADIs come in four sizes and can be ordered in a full range of visible and IR wavelengths, with our DL2449 also available in an RGB “all color” version. Heat sinking the LEDs eliminates the need for cooling fans, providing vibration free performance, and a dust cover protecting the beam splitter minimizes cleaning. Applications include reading print on metal surfaces, can lids, and metal coated leads.
