video networking solution
MGW 3100 is a family of digital video-over-Internet Protocol (IP)
systems that provides high performance MPEG transport stream processing
with the ability to distribute digital video over IP-based networks.
Applications include IP video distribution, IP video contribution,
and MPEG video demultiplexing. By bridging Digital Video Broadcasting
(DVB) and high-speed data networks, MGW 3100 is a cost-effective video
networking solution for service providers and enterprises requiring
real-time distribution of digital video over IP-based networks.
The MGW 3100 has been designed to provide high performance, scaleable
video networking solutions over cost-effective IP networks. When deployed
in a video headend as a demultiplexing transmitter, MGW 3100 allows
service operators to leverage existing IP infrastructure by serving
as a flexible and cost effective method for distributing narrowcast
content to digital set-top boxes. MGW 3100 can also be deployed as
a transport mode transmitter and receiver set, providing broadcasters
with a cost effective video transport and video contribution solution.
MGW 3100 incorporates advanced jitter correction features that compensate
for the effects of delay variation and latency introduced by IP networks.
This feature ensures DVB specification compliance for all transmissions.
By utilizing Optibase's industry leading DVB transport stream processing
technology in a throughput optimized architecture, MGW 3100 achieves
high performance in all modes of operation through the DVB-ASI and
the dual 10/100 Base-T industry standard interfaces. For applications
requiring the highest IP throughput performance, an optional 1000
Base-SX Gigabit Ethernet interface is available.
A GUI-based Element Management System (EMS) offers remote monitoring
and control of MGW 3100 systems. Compliant with the Simple Network
Management Protocol (SNMP), the EMS allows you to remotely manage
all MGW 31000 capabilities from any network PC.
